Several Big Ones Hit Daytona

Well with every February brings the start of racing season for the three main competing series in nascar.

Daytona is the heart of nascar and where all the action and stories begin. If accidents and sparks are what the fans today want , all three series delivered.

Friday nights truck face was filled with wrecks, leaving debris and a only a handful of trucks left to battle to the end. Saturday brought the Xfinity cars and their race was totally different. Seemed that no car or driver wanted to drop down low and form two lines around the track. With no movement comes now accidents and the race appeared to be slightly boring to some.

Now on Sunday bright the big boys and the start of this years Daytona 500.

With our biggest stars anxiously waiting to start their season it was awesome to see full grandstands. The race was very entertaining from our perspective. There was passing, drama and lots of wrecks if your into that sort of thing.

Congratulations to Denny Hamlin and all the people at Gibbs Racing for the win. With two major accidents taking out most of the field late in the race, there were only a bunch of care left to battle for the trophy. Some notes to take away were how well Matt DiBenedetto ran with his new team.

He showed he’s a legitimate threat , running upfront , leading laps and staying near the top ten all day until he was swept up in an accident nearing the end. I think we might see him upfront more this year. Rookie Ryan Preece was able to dodge most of the trouble and finished in the top ten.

It should be exciting to watch these two drivers and see how they perform this year 🏁
